Morris Taub : A brief history

1973-1988 Studied painting, printmaking, and life drawing : New York City Community College, Pratt Graphics Center, The New School/Parsons, New York Academy of Art

1984 Began printing monotypes at Pratt Graphics Center, New York, NY

1985 ‘Glider’, a monotype, selected for the Pratt/Silvermine International Print Exhibition by William Rubin, Metropolitan Museum’s Director for Modern Art

1986 Dance Images, 18 black and white monotypes, solo show at Print Exclusively, Staten Island, New York

1987 Became a member of Associated American Artists, New York, NY

1987 Two monotypes in benefit group exhibit at Associated American Artists : ‘Winter Harvest’ and ‘Office Supplies’

1987 ‘Vase on Checkered Table Cloth’, a monotype, exhibited at SSC&B, Manhattan, New York, in a show called One of a Kind.

1988 ‘Dripping Peaches’, a monotype, in a group show at Associated American Artists called ‘Contemporary Still-life’

1989 Four monotypes selected by Silvermine in Connecticut for their International Prints exhibit

1990 Three monotypes selected for Prints International exhibition, ‘Flowers’, ‘Blue Still-life’, and ‘Valeries Kitchen’

1990 Became a member of the Wetherholt Gallery, Washington, D.C.

1990 Three monotypes selected for group show by Wetherholt, ‘Children at the Seashore’, ‘Ceramic’, and ‘Seated Nude’

1992 Group show called A Feast for the Eyes, one monotype, ‘Watermelon’ chosen for exhibit

1993 Group show, ‘Monotypes/Monoprints’ at Associated American Artists, New York, NY

1995 Solo exhibit of monotypes and collage at L’Acajou, a french restaurant, New York, NY

1998 Solo exhibit, gouache paintings on carton at Maldoror, a bar and restaurant in Paris, France
