This monotype was made with four individual small plates. I inked the plates with the colors you see here. I then cut out paper and placed the pieces on the ink. I inked the cut out paper with black ink. You can see where the roller left its marks. These were lined up on the press, a sheet of Arches layed over them and printed. This print has an embossed effect because the paper pieces which constitute the vases was thick enough to leave a good impression.

There are six fresh canvases, several cans and tubs of acrylic paint, and one plastic tub of paste/glue that I’m going to experiment with later this week. It’s all sitting there waiting for me to get to work. That’s one part of having the desire to do this work I like. You take all these elements, throw them together, planned or not, and bam, you have something that didn’t exist before.

I guess this is the first post of this new blog. This sculpture is in front of St. Eustache in Paris. Hmmm. I don’t feel comfortable calling my work ‘art’. Everything is art these days. Maybe from here on I’ll just refer to it as my work and that’s all. The word ‘art’ like ‘love’ has become tainted by humanity. It’s hard to know what people are talking about really when they use these words. I wonder if I can say that the word ‘art’ has lost its meaning?
