Beginnings : Monotype, 1989, Charbonnel Etching Inks on Arches paper

Paper size : 11″ (28cm) x 5 3/4″ (14.6cm). Plate size : Four individual plates that measure 2″ (5cm) x 2″ (5cm). Sizes are approximate.

This print is in excellent condition.

This monotype was made with four individual small plates. I inked the plates with the colors you see here. I then cut out paper and placed the pieces on the ink. I inked the cut out paper with black ink. You can see where the roller left its marks. These were lined up on the press, a sheet of Arches layed over them and printed. This print has an embossed effect because the paper pieces which constitute the vases was thick enough to leave a good impression.

There’s a slight water stain on upper edge, left side of paper, otherwise the print is in excellent condition.
